Process and Fees

Free initial telephone consultation

If you are interested in an appointment, please send me a message or call me to arrange a free initial telephone consultation. This way you can get a feel for whether I am the right therapist for you and how we can work together.

After that…

If you decide to seek therapeutic support after our telephone conversation, at first we will meet for a detailed assessment. This allows us to talk about what motivates you to take up therapy, what expectations and goals you have and how long the therapy is likely to take.

A therapy session lasts 50 minutes. We generally meet weekly, if possible at a regular time. Other intervals may be possible and also online sessions, depending on your life situation.

During the on-going therapy, we regularly review the process to see whether you are still satisfied. If your goals have changed we can then discuss how the therapy can be adapted to your needs.

Of course, you are free to end the therapy at any time, for example if your life circumstances change. We will then try to bring the therapy to a good ending together.

What are the costs?

My current fee is €80 per 50 minute therapy session.

If you have private health insurance this might cover part of the therapy costs. You would need to check this directly with your insurance provider.

Advantages of self-payment

Depending on your life situation, you have the following benefits as a self-payer compared to a therapy financed by the German statutory health insurance (gesetzliche Krankenkasse):

  • A therapy place is usually available without a long waiting time and the treatment has no bureaucratic hurdles in terms of available hours and frequency.
  • Depending on your needs a range of psychotherapeutic methods can be used in an integrative process.
  • Your psychotherapeutic treatment remains anonymous and is not on record – which can be an advantage if you are planning on becoming a civil servant in Germany (Verbeamtung), in the process of taking out life insurance or occupational disability insurance, or if you want to change your health insurance company.
