About me

Born and raised in Germany, I moved to London in my early twenties, where I lived, studied and worked for over twenty formative years. Living in London, I was grateful to meet many different people from all over the world and fully embrace the fact that identity diversity – being “different” – is simply the norm.

I was drawn to psychotherapeutic work after completing a doctorate in biomedical research and undertook five years of part-time postgraduate training in London, with a focus on contemporary psychodynamic psychotherapy, integrated with methods from the humanistic-existential tradition and transpersonal psychotherapy.

In parallel to my therapeutic work, I was part of a multidisciplinary team developing a science-based training programme in mindfulness, empathy and practical ethics. A few years ago I moved back to Germany with my family, was on parental leave and took a sabbatical for professional development.

As a creative person, I have been shaped by my own life experiences and life crises. As part of my professional training, I had weekly psychotherapy for more than seven years and personally experienced how difficult and how liberating it can be to face your own depths.. Also important was additional training as a bereavement counsellor in a London hospice and a placement offering therapeutic support for homeless people.

What I enjoy most about my therapeutic work is that I can accompany so many different kinds of people on their journey through life – and that I am able to experience, again and again, how much hidden strength is in all of us, despite all the difficulties that life has in store.

There are ways out of the crisis.

And I would be happy to accompany you on that path.
